Welcome to Just 4 Kids Performing Arts!

A place to have fun, belong and shine
Hi, I'm Vicky, the founder and Principal of Just 4 Kids Performing Arts — and if you've found your way here because you're wondering whether performing arts might be right for your child, welcome! 💙
J4K is about singing, dancing and drama, of course. But for me, it's always been about something much bigger than learning how to perform.
It's about confidence. Friendship. Creativity. Having a go. Feeling accepted. And giving children somewhere they can completely be themselves.
A little bit about me 👋
I've spent more than 20 years working with children through teaching, performing arts and children's entertainment. My own love of performing started with singing, dancing and acting, and over the years I've been incredibly lucky to turn that passion into a career.
I've worked in children's entertainment both here in the UK and in Los Angeles, taught performing arts and worked as a primary school teacher — all experiences that have shaped the way I work with children today.
And yes, I still absolutely love performing myself!
Fun fact 🎬 I've played Princess Belle in Beauty and the Beast twice! 🌹
But over all those years, one thing became really clear to me:
Performing arts can give children so much more than performance skills.
Why I created J4K 💛
I wanted to create the kind of performing arts school where children didn't feel they had to arrive already knowing how to sing, dance or act. Some children come through our doors bursting with confidence and desperate to get on stage. Others barely want to leave Mum or Dad on their first week.
Both are equally welcome.
There are no auditions to join J4K and children don't need any previous experience.
I wanted our classes to be somewhere children could have fun, feel accepted, make friends, use their imagination and gradually discover what they're capable of — without feeling under pressure to be perfect. Because confidence doesn't always look like being the loudest child in the room.
Sometimes confidence is putting your hand up for the first time. Sometimes it's speaking one line in front of the group. Joining in with a game you were nervous about. Talking to somebody new.
Trying a dance even though you're worried you'll get it wrong. Or standing on stage at the end of term and thinking:
“I actually did it!” 🌟
Those moments mean just as much to us as the big ones.
So, what actually happens at J4K?
Our weekly classes combine singing, dancing, drama, theatre games, improvisation, characters, scripts, creative activities and performance. But every week is a little different.
One week we might be creating ridiculous characters and improvising scenes. Another might involve learning choreography, singing a musical theatre song or bringing a script to life.
There's plenty of laughter and silliness along the way — because children learn brilliantly when they're enjoying themselves!
As the term progresses, our classes also work together towards an end-of-term performance, giving the children the chance to put everything they've been exploring into practice.
It's not about creating perfect performers
This bit is really important to me. Of course we help children develop their singing, dancing and acting skills. We love seeing them become stronger performers.
But J4K isn't about perfection.
Not every child wants the biggest part.
Not every child dreams of singing a solo.
And not every child's biggest achievement will happen on stage.
For one child, success might be confidently performing a whole scene.
For another, it might be finally feeling brave enough to contribute an idea in front of everyone.
Both deserve celebrating.
We encourage children to challenge themselves, but we want them to feel supported rather than pressured while they're doing it.
Watching confidence grow 🌱
One of my favourite things about running J4K is watching a child arrive feeling unsure and then seeing the little changes happen week by week.
They start putting their hand up.
They make a friend.
They volunteer for something.
They try something they previously avoided.
They stop worrying quite so much about getting it wrong.
And eventually you see that little look of “Actually... I can do this.”
That's the magic bit for me.
And that's what J4K is really about.
Who are our classes for?
Our weekly performing arts classes are for children aged 4–12, with different groups designed around children's ages and stages.
We currently run classes in:
📍 Truro📍 Grampound📍 Falmouth
Whether your child is already putting on performances in your living room every night or would rather hide behind you when somebody says hello, they're welcome here. 💙
Come and give it a go! ✨
The best way to find out whether J4K is right for your child isn't to commit to a whole term.
It's simply to come along and try it.
That's why every new child's first regular J4K class is completely FREE. We run free taster session on weeks 1, 2 and 3 of each term.
There's no audition, no previous experience needed and no obligation to continue afterwards.
They can just come in, meet us, join in and see how they feel.
And who knows?
It might be the beginning of something rather lovely. 🌟
